ABOUT
Hi, I'm Naquan — a Facilities Specialist turning years of operations experience into a career in cloud engineering. For 10+ years, I've kept offices running in high-paced corporate environments. I have gained valuable experience dealing with HVAC systems, work orders, vendor contracts, space planning, preventive maintenance, and client service; things people depend on every single day without thinking about it. That kind of work teaches you something that no certification can: how to think in systems. How to identify a pain point before it becomes a crisis. How to keep complex, interdependent systems running smoothly under pressure. What I didn't realize until recently is that those are some of the same skills cloud engineering is built on. The terminology is different. The tools are virtual instead of physical. But the thinking — redundancy, cost efficiency, access control, knowing what breaks when something else fails — that's the same discipline. I just need to learn how to speak the language. So that's what I'm doing. I'm currently pursuing my AWS certifications on a focused path toward cloud engineering, documenting every step of the way through my LinkedIn series Cloud Out Loud. This blog is where I consolidate the proof of progress — the labs, the projects, the things I built while learning how to build things. If you're a recruiter or hiring manager, my resume is below. If you're on a similar path, I'd love to connect. Either way, welcome to the journey. — Naquan
